Introducción

Este breve artículo muestra cómo configurar un entorno de desarrollo con Eclipse IDE 3.3 (Europa) con los fuentes del SVN de gvSIG. Para obtener una versión más o menos estable podemos conectarnos a un tag específico en vez de usar el trunk. Después, si te sientes valiente, puedes cambiar a la versión del trunk a ver qué pasa.

Este artículo asume que:

  • Tienes experiencia con Eclipse
  • Tienes experiencia desarrollando con gvSIG

A continuación debes cerciorarte de que la máquina virtual de java que utilizas es SUN Java 1.5 SDK (revisión 12 o posterior) con Java JAI y Java JAI I/O el el classpath. Lo mejor es instalar JAI en la máquina virtual de java pero puedes tenerlo en otro sitio si así lo quieres.

Para conectar al repositorio SVN de gvSIG asumo que estas usando el cliente Subclipse. Desde la opción SVN Repository Exploring añade un nuevo repositorio con la URL https://devel.gvsig.org/svn/gvsig-desktop

La estructura del repositorio de gvSIG

Como en cualquier repositorio puedes ver la típica estructura trunk/branches/tags. Vamos a usar el último tag para la versión gvSIG 2.0 previa al refactoring de acceso a datos. No vamos a trabajar con la última versión de desarrollo de gvSIG.

Los directorios tag (como en el trunk o en cualquier branch del proyecto) son directorios que almacenan varios (algunas veces docenas) proyectos de Eclipse. Los directorios de los que obtendremos nuestros proyectos son:

  • applications (aplicaciones que funcionan sobre Andami)
  • binaries (.dll o .so)
  • extensions (todas las extensiones de Andami)
  • frameworks (Andami)
  • libraries (todas las bibliotecas usadas por las extensiones, Andami y appgvSIG)

Obtener el código fuente mínimo para gvSIG

Bien, ahora tienes el repositorio de los fuentes configurados y elegido el tag con el que quieres trabajar, es hora de descargarse los archivos de proyecto de Eclipse. En este punto te sugiero que descargues y trates de ejecutar lo realmente básico de un build de gvSIG con el conjunto mínimo de funcionalidades y a apartir de ahí descargar más bibliotecas y extensiones.

Así, lo primero de todo es desactivar la propiedad automatic building para descargar primero todo el código y luego hacer un build de él.

Después de descargar todos los proyectos en tu workspace puedes cambiar la propiedad Build Automatically. Si todo va bien, no deberías ver ningún aspa roja en tus proyectos y podrás comenzar con tu primer build.

NOTA: Algunas veces Eclipse olvida algunas referencias a bibliotecas, así si te encuentras que faltan clases o jars en un proyecto, inteta borrar cualquier jar del conjunto de bibliotecas referenciadas y añádelo de nuevo.

Hay un task de Ant en appgvSIG llamado install-all que ejecuta todos los Ant de las diferentes extensiones y bibliotecas de gvSIG en el orden correcto y coloca todo bajo Andami. También puedes ejecutar el task de Ant que hay en el proyecto binaries para copiar las bibliotecas apropiadas a ese directorio.

Configurar el diálogo de ejecución

Ahora puedes configurar el diálogo Run para ejuctar gvSIG. Si tienes un workspace para gvSIG 1.1.2 la configuración es la misma por lo que puedes copiar los argumentos y las variables de entorno a este nuevo workspace.

Estas capturas muestran la configuración para un entorno Windows pero para Linux o Mac son muy parecidas.

Con esta configuración serás capaz de ejecutar gvSIG, abrir ficheros shape, usar el nuevo soporte de simbología, y las utilidades básicas de gvSIG. Para una versión más completa con capacidad de edición, acceso WMS, diseño de nuevos iconos, acceso raster y utilidades de proyecciones necesitarás añadir más proyectos a tu workspace.

Ahora puedes repetir el proceso descrito arriba para obtener estas esxtensiones y bibliotecas.

IMPORTANTE: ten cuidado de renombrar libJCRS cuando te lo descargues del repositorio SVN ya que trata de obtener un nuevo nombre, algo parecido a crsgdal.

IMPORTANTE: necesitarás reconstruir libUIComponent para que extRasterTools-SE compile ya que org.gvsig.ui.jar de Andami está desfasado.

Si haces un build de un componente o repites con el build principal de Ant en appgvSIG, obtendrás un gvSIG más completo. Desde este punto es decisión tuya descargar más extensiones. Una recomendación importante es que te descargues el componente que quieras verificar y eches un vistazo a las dependencias. Si no las tienes descárgatelas del repositorio.

Salta al tronco

Si lo que quieres es tener el código más reciente puedes acceder al trunk del repositorio. Con Eclipse esto es muy fácil de hacer seleccionando la opción Switch to another Branch/Tag... y navegando a la versión del trunk de cada proyecto.

El futuro próximo

Puede que te hayas dado cuenta de que todo proyecto tiene un archivo pom.xml. Si estás familiarizado con Maven, te sentirás feliz al ver que gvSIG está adoptando este framework de construcción y despliegue. Esto hará mucho más fácil desplegar el entorno de desarrollo y esperemos que haga este documeto innecesario ;).

Otro tema importante es el refactoring que se está haciendo en este momento por el equipo de gvSIG. Esto significa que en un futuro próximo la estructura clásica de driver de libFMap cambiará por una aproximación similar al datastore de GeoAPI.
