This work was done within my Master Thesis for Computer Engineering studies. Tasks performed and the documentation gathered throughout the process and its follow-up are described here. First, Geographic Information Systems were analized, and then the gvSIG platform and other related technologies. The software solution developed within the project is an extension for gvSIG. This solution enables topological validations for water networks in that platform. The work also lays groundwork for developing more general tools for topological validation.
