Hack for installing Mac OS X-non-supported gvSIG extensions

Sometimes, an extension for gvSIG is published with an installer made with IzPack, which won't work on gvSIG for OS X (because IzPack does not understand OS X's bundles), and so there is no installer for OS X.

Ideally, the extension's authors would provide such an installer (users, nag the authors!), but, until then, this little application should make things a bit easier.

This application will create an Alias to the innards of a gvSIG bundle so you can use normal IzPack-based gvSIG extensions installers on OS X. You'll need an installer in .jar format; it can be not-too-dificultly extracted from the .bin script file supplied for Linux.

Only try this if the extension does not use native libraries (*.dll, *.so.*).

Use this program, and a folder will be created besides the selected gvSIG to receive any extensions installation. Next, use the extension installer to install it on that folder. And that's it.

For more details, read the README.

BEWARE: THIS IS A HACK SO YOU CAN TRY NEW EXTENSIONS ASAP, WITHOUT WAITING FOR OFFICIAL SUPPORT. AFTER INTALLING AN EXTENSION IN THIS WAY, YOU COULD FIND ALL KINDS OF STRANGE ERRORS WHILE USING THE MODIFIED GVSIG; DON'T ASK FOR HELP IN THE MAIL LISTS, SINCE WE WON'T BE ABLE TO HELP.

That being said, maybe success stories might be interesting :).

Once the extension's installation has finished, the folder that was created with this program may be deleted (that is my suggestion, in fact); the extension is already safe inside gvSIG. If later you need to create again the folder, just run again this program.
