Although only a temporary fix this how-to provides steps on (a) downloading and installing the latest version of Java, (b) modifying gvSIG so it uses this version of Java, and (c) integrates the latest build of Sextante into gvSIG. These instructions are specific to Ubuntu 9.10 and Windows XP Pro.

This methodology describes how to create tables of points with known co-ordinates and how to load them into gvSIG. It is for example useful for merging existing points shapefiles with additional surveyed ones, or for creating lists of points for reference. It forms part of the Second Edition of the OA North Survey and GIS Manual, and therefore contains a very basic guide to merging in spreadsheets at the beginning.
