To install i3Geo, the package corresponding to the operative system must be downloaded firstly. The following installations are available:</p>

<strong>Linux:</strong> The .zip file contains only the “i3Geo” folder.</li>
<li>
<strong>Windows:</strong> The .zip file contains the “ms4w” and “i3Geo” directories (in the folder ms4w/apache/htdocs).</li>

To continue with the installation:</p>

<strong>Linux:</strong> it's necessary to install the software that covers the necessary environment to start i3Geo. Consult "Requirements" further down.</li>

MapServer must be installed to run i3Geo. The information about how to install Mapserver is available <a href="http://mapserver.org/installation/index.html#installation" target="_blank">here</a>. </p>

<strong>Windows:</strong> “<a href="http://www.maptools.org/ms4w/index.phtml" target="_blank">ms4w</a>” is a package for Windows that includes Apache, PHP and MapServer installed already. The MS4W folder must be copied at the local directory (C:\). After copying it, consult the "c:\ms4w\readme.txt" file, where it's explained how to run Apache and i3Geo.</li>
