The goal of the publishing extension is to provide users with the functionality of publishing geospatial data and metadata through standard OGC web services, right from the gvSIG user interface without the need to interact directly with any server software. In this way, without specific knowledge of the server applications, the gvSIG user will be able to publish cartography and metadata on-line with extreme ease.

This first version specifically includes publishing of geospatial services through these software packages and standards: 

• Mapserver: WMS, WCS & WFS.
• Geoserver: WFS.
