Is it recommended to save a project right after an error?

by Lucía Martínez last modified 2011-08-10 15:31

Definitely no.

When an error happens, the first thought is to save the project in order to not to lose the work done until this moment. However, this action usually causes the opposite effect since in case that the error had made damages at the project, saving it may corrupt the file.

For this reason, it is recommended to save the project every once in a while as a general rule and, in case of an error:

  1. Save the project with a different name.
  2. Close the application.
  3. Try to open the just saved project.

If it is not right opened, at least there is last saved version of the original project, previous to error appearance.
